🧬 What is DHEA – and why does it matter as we age?

DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone made by your adrenal glands.

It’s the precursor to key sex hormones like oestrogen and testosterone. Think of it as the raw ingredient your body uses to create hormonal balance.

Levels peak in your 20s and steadily decline with age, which may contribute to fatigue, low libido, brain fog and changes in skin and bone health.

Vaginal DHEA can be prescribed as a form of localised HRT to help with menopausal symptoms like vaginal dryness or pain during sex.

Join myself and Dr Kelly Casperson as we dive further into how else DHEA can help your body during midlife, in the week’s episode packed full of advice and insights to support your during your menopausal journey.
