Many high-functioning women are used to tying their worth to productivity, reliability, and always being available. Often, this pattern develops early in life and can look like a strength on the outside.

In perimenopause, however, the same coping style can become harder to sustain. As energy, sleep, and stress tolerance shift, burnout becomes more likely, revealing that constant over-functioning isn’t always sustainable.
