Vaginal estrogen is often described as “safer” because only minimal amounts enter the bloodstream. But this misses the bigger clinical picture. Systemic estrogen therapy, when appropriately prescribed, has not been shown to increase breast cancer risk in the same way many people assume.

Focusing on tiny levels of absorption can distract from the broader evidence and prevent women from accessing effective treatment for symptoms that significantly affect quality of life.
